WHAT IS TOKYO AIM?

TOKYO AIM is a joint venture between the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange, providing companies with access to equity capital for growth, while creating new investment opportunities for Japanese and international professional investors.

The creation of TOKYO AIM became possible following the revision of the Japanese Financial Instruments and Exchange Act passed in 2008. Based on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market model, TOKYO AIM offers companies an alternative listing framework in Japan.

The operation of the market is centred around a community of professional advisers, which include Japanese Nominated Advisers (J-Nomads), as well as other professionals including lawyers and accountants. These advisers help companies through the admission process and will subsequently support the companies’ future strategy for growth as public companies. All advisers act to preserve the integrity and uphold the standards of TOKYO AIM while contributing to its ongoing success.
